The replacement cartridge is heat sealed in aluminium foil for an extended shelf life of 10 years and will provide a further 132,000 gallons of safe drinking water.
Extended shelf life is due to the aluminium barrier foil which has a water vapour diffusion rate that is 80 times slower than standard packaged polyethylene. The aluminium sealed package acts as a barrier to prevent water vapour from entering the pack and it performs the same protection in reverse as it retains the glycerine within the hollow fibre membranes.

Great addition to my Jerry can filter. Flexible and durable hose that feels like it will last and doesn’t leak. If only it had a way to lock in the on/flow position, I would have given it an easy 5 stars.
This is a very solid and durable product; I highly recommend reading the set up instructions carefully and watching the YouTube video on priming this container.
